FIRST CROWN EVER MADE WITH AMBER
We have always been inspired by beauty
Since 2016, we have been a proud partner of the Miss Polonia pageant – one of the oldest beauty contests in the world. The current form and mission of the competition are rooted in a 95-year tradition of selecting the most beautiful Polish woman. Miss Polonia is not only beautiful but also intelligent and socially engaged. As one of the winners once said: “True beauty lies in good deeds and empathy.”
The titleholders actively support charitable causes, helping orphanages, foundations, and individuals facing life’s challenges. Celebrating beauty and supporting social initiatives are values close to the heart of S&A. For years, we have supported numerous charitable efforts, including the NATO Charity Bazaar, The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, hospices, and women’s organizations such as Lady Business Club.
Passion for beauty and amber
For over 30 years, S&A has been designing and creating silver and gold jewellery with amber and other natural gemstones. Owning our own Design Studio and having full control over every stage of production – all housed in one location – allows us to create unique pieces that have received international awards and are appreciated by customers worldwide.
With our strong position in the jewellery market, we decided to use our unique know-how to create a one-of-a-kind project: the amber crown for Miss Polonia. S&A has crafted a true masterpiece of jewellery art that each year adorns the head of Poland’s most beautiful woman, symbolically crowning the journey each participant undertakes to earn this prestigious title.
The crown was designed by Cyprian Chorociej from the S&A Design Studio, who drew inspiration from a blend of elvish fantasy and reality. Among the decorative elements, one can spot motifs of hussar feathers – symbols of strength, prestige, and freedom. The manual process of finishing and assembling the Crown was executed by the jewellery master Piotr Frankowski.
The result of several months of work is a spectacular crown set with as many as 1,832 individually mounted gemstones. Its central point is a unique piece of amber selected from several kilograms of raw material and cut especially for this occasion. The amber not only adds a golden glow and symbolizes success, but also emphasizes the link between the pageant and Polish tradition.
Another unique stone featured in the crown is a green-golden citrine in the Luise precision cut, available exclusively in the S&A gold collection Choose Glamour. The chosen citrine stands out with exceptional clarity and an incredible number of facets, making it sparkle as if filled with a million stars.
The entire crown is made of the highest-quality silver, plated with precious rhodium, with decorative elements plated with 24-karat gold.
The most beautiful women in the world
Over the more than 95 years of Miss Polonia’s history, 45 Polish women have worn the title and crown. Since 2016, eight titleholders have worn the crown created by S&A. The crown is a traveling trophy, while the title remains with the winner for life.
Miss Polonia winners represent Poland in the world’s most prestigious beauty pageants: Miss World, Miss Grand International, Miss Earth, Miss Intercontinental, and Miss Charm.
To earn the title of the most beautiful woman in the world, contestants must demonstrate not only remarkable beauty but also a captivating personality, artistic talent, and social involvement.
A Polish woman first became Miss World in 1989 – Aneta Kręglicka. It happened again in 2021, when Karolina Bielawska won the title of Miss World. In 2025, Maja Klajda was crowned Miss Europe and named 2nd Runner-up at Miss World.
Jewellery inspired by the crown
At S&A, we believe every woman deserves to feel valued and beautiful. That’s why we designed a jewellery set inspired by the Miss Polonia crown. Each contestant receives a necklace with a crown motif from us – as a keepsake of her participation and a tribute to the inner beauty every woman carries. Just like the original Miss Polonia crown, the jewellery features amber at its center, accentuated by shimmering crystals. The pieces are crafted from silver, plated with rhodium or gold.
