The visit of the British Royal Couple to Poland was an event of exceptional significance, both diplomatic and symbolic. On this occasion, S&A Jewellery Design had the privilege of preparing jewellery that became the official gift presented to the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and Prince William.
The Royal Collection was created as a tribute to the jewellery-making traditions of Pomerania and as a reflection of the elegant and modern style of the British Royal Couple, which served as inspiration during the design process. The designs combine respect for tradition with S&A’s distinctive contemporary aesthetics. The materials used – natural Baltic amber, gold and silver – emphasise the timeless character of the collection, while embodying discreet elegance and refinement.
The decision regarding the choice of gifts was made by the Office of the Mayor of Gdańsk in consultation with the British Embassy. This allowed S&A jewellery to become part of the official diplomatic protocol. The gifts were ceremoniously presented to the Royal Couple by the Mayor of Gdańsk in the historic interiors of Artus Court, a place that for centuries has symbolised the city’s openness to the world and intercultural dialogue.
The Royal Collection is not merely jewellery, it is a story of the meeting of tradition and modernity, of craftsmanship and artistry, and of a truly exceptional moment in the history of S&A Jewellery Design.
